To the Class of 07
One year of high school left. One year until you are free to make your own decisions. One year until your mom wont do your laundry for you anymore. One year to make all the decisions that will determine the next few years of your life. One year that you seem swarmed with questions.
Will I stay at home?
Where do I go to college?
Do I go to college?
Do I stay local?
Do I get out of town?
And there are so many more…
This is to both scare and encourage you.
It’s your last year. Don’t regret it. Try something new. If you have never been in a play try out for your school. If you’ve never been in athletics but had a interest go for it. You may be worried thinking that people will look at you odd for suddenly changing but let’s face it they are staring because we are freaks. Now doesn’t it feel good to admit it?
Many of the people around you will be putting stupid pressures on you for any number of different things but just remember to be yourself.
“If you don’t have the courage to be yourself, who will?”
To the Class of 06
You have all made an impact on my life and I will miss you guys. Thank you for both showing me responsible, well behaved examples and normal ones. I hope that in your wake the Class of 07 will leave its own footprints.
